Comments: Grettir the Strong comes to Asgeir’s farm. Now Asgeir has been having trouble keeping a Shepard. Grettir though insists he can do the job and fears nothing. Asgeir also has a Housekeeper, Hild.
This story does take a most unexpected turn.
The scenes of the older time are so well done you get a feeling of actually being there.
This story will have you feeling for both the elf and human. Hild is revealed as her true self and Grettir is as he always has been. Hild learns a valuable lesson. Do not judge a book or person by its cover.
The narrator and his talking dog are a nice touch at the begging and end of the story. They add that extra that makes it stand out as something special.
