Comments: Billy and Raven are traveling companions. Raven is a special girl, beautiful and magical, while Billy comes across as an upstanding and dependable guy. The two clearly get along well, and their friendship is one of the strongest parts of the story.
During their journey, a group of bikers stops them on the road. The way Billy and Raven handle the encounter is fun, especially in how they talk to the bikers. It quickly becomes clear that these two are not the kind of people the bikers are used to picking on. Unfortunately for the bikers, they do not learn that lesson easily, and they soon discover that Billy and Raven are not normal prey.
The pair is on the run and really only has each other to depend on.
The artwork does a great job illustrating the open roads they travel. Billy is drawn as a big, powerful man, and the fight scenes emphasize just how strong he is. Raven is shown using her abilities several times, and she is portrayed as both powerful and beautiful. The bikers themselves are not drawn to look overly menacing, even though their actions certainly are.
Billy and Raven are clearly friends, but there is a sense that their relationship could become something more. Following their journey gives the reader a good feeling. They are good people, exactly the kind you would want as friends. Even though they are special in their own ways, they still come across as ordinary people just trying to get by.
