Comments: Porthos, Lovey, and Athos are support animals. Two dogs and a cat. The people trying to save humanity look to their pets for inspiration through sincerity, loyalty, and innocence. They are on a spaceship going to another planet. We see their usefulness as they calm and put one person a doctor in a good mood. She does have a lot riding on her.
This issue being an ashcan is short so it does not have the chance to fully get into the story.
Each of the pets has been given augmentations.
It is fun to see inside their thoughts and how simple they are. They know what to do and they do the right thing. They perform as best they can.
The art does show the dogs and cats with emotions and feelings. They have a job to do and they do it well. Yet they are not perfect. They do support each other showing that loyalty.
The animals are cute yet more than that you see by their behavior they are special and it is easy to see they contribute above and beyond normal animals. Yet you will find yourself thinking of them as pets and wishing you had one or all of them as your pets.
