Comments: This book collects issues one to four of the Doctor Who comic book.
Earth has been conquered, and it’s up to the doctors and their companions to fix things. The 13th Doctor finds the Sea Devils on Earth in this alternate timeline. The Doctor is outgoing in her approach to the Sea Devils.
The 10th Doctor shows up and gets together with this Earth’s Rose Tyler.
The 13th Doctor continues learning all she can. Then a surprise occurs as Queen Skithera comes calling. The illustration of her as she is first shown looks amazing.
Both Doctors are written and drawn to match the personalities of the actors who played them on TV.
The artwork on the T.A.R.D.I.S.’s is simply gorgeous. The depth is perfectly done and the colors spot-on. They look almost real like they are going to pop out of the page at you. The 13th Doctor’s face up close is full of hope.
The 13th Doctor gathers everyone together and introductions are made and it’s off to save the world. The usual stuff. The female Doctor is the one in charge as is right she is the oldest with the most experience. She is one determined Time Lord. When she says she is going to do something you believe her.
The 13th Doctor is the main character and star of this book all the rest including the 10th Doctor are secondary characters. The ending is anti-climatic. Yes, all is right in the universe again. The story was not all that exciting.
There is a touching scene between the 10th Doctor and Rose Tyler. He does care for her deeply.
The final page has a surprise, but you will have no idea about it unless you have been following the comic books.
It is wonderful seeing the Doctor and the companions in action. The Doctor is such a different type of character who changes with each regeneration.
