Silver Surfer/ Superman # 1
“POP!”

Writer: George Perez
Penciller: Ron Lim
Inker: Terry Austin
Colorist: Tom Smith
Letterer: John Costanza

(Cover Date: January 1997- But it came out in November 1996)

I have to say- Ron Lim can (and always will) draw a very amazing Silver Surfer and I always thought he was the ideal choice to illustrate this one-shot our heroes have their worlds turned upside down thanks to Mr. Mxyzptlk and The Impossible Man. I really dug how George Perez’s script really showcases how unique the former herald of Galactus and the last survivor of Krypton are and how it shows how much they have in common. And I really enjoyed the scene in which both Mxyzptlk and The Impossible Man duked it out by transforming into a different Marvel and DC character every minute.

While most crossovers can feel stuffed with too many characters and the plot can drag on at times, I didn’t get any of that by reading this so my hats off to both Misters Perez and Lim on a job well done.
