September 29, Mt. Laurel, NJ: The new era of Gargoyles comics has been acclaimed by critics and cherished by fans, and one of the most fun elements has been an established tradition of winter specials. Dynamite Entertainment today announces the third in this delightful annual celebration!
While the stone guardians of the Manhattan Clan are caught up in the chaos of the holidays, everyone’s favorite dog-like Gargoyle named Bronx finds time to enjoy the wintery weather and explore. In the first such special in 2024 he met a new buddy in bull terrier Lance.
Co-writers Greg Weisman and Nate Cosby reunite once more with original Dynamite Gargoyles artist George Kambadais for another mission of this adorable pair of protectors. On the longest night of the year, in the darkest part of the night, a danger lurks out in the snow. Thankfully Bronx and Lance are going to stay up all night, vigilantly guarding the ones they care about most — including each other.
“I love having this tradition and working with Nate and George (and Bronx and Lance) to bring us a new story every year!,” said franchise creator Greg Weisman.
“What a joy to tell another snowy adventure starring Bronx and his best bull terrier buddy, Lance!,” said co-writer and editor Nate Cosby. “Lexington’s tagging along this time, and the hungry trio is on a desperate search for winter watermelon! Yes, you read that correctly.”
This oversized 48-page special is complemented by gorgeous covers capturing the season by Stephen Byrne (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Kambadais, Drew Moss (Gargoyles: Dark Ages), and Domenico Carbone.
