BAD IDEA Names PETER STERN as Managing Editor

Newest Addition to Publisher’s Editorial Team To Assist Growing Slate of Upcoming Titles, Including MEGALITH, HABITAT, THE PRIEST and More

BAD IDEA is proud to announce that industry vet Peter Stern has been named to the position of Managing Editor. Stern begins his new role in the midst of the BAD IDEA TWO initiative with a slate of major new prestige-format series for BAD IDEA TWO: Part Two forthcoming.

As Managing Editor, Stern will oversee BAD IDEA’s editorial operations and management including data reconciliation, asset tracking and talent onboarding, as well as contribute to already announced series such as MEGALITH by writer Matt Kindt and artist Lewis LaRosa, and THEY’RE ALL TERRIBLE by writer Matt Kindt and artist Ramon Villalobos, in addition to the slate of currently in development and yet-to-be announced titles.

Stern joins BAD IDEA at an auspicious time for the rebellious publisher who has just wrapped their most critically acclaimed slate of books thus far. The BAD IDEA TWO: Part One slate included record setting launches for ORC ISLAND by writer Joshua Dysart and artist Alberto PonticelliTHE ENDS by David Lapham & Maria LaphamTHE FINDER by writer Christos Gage and artist Tomas Giorello, and ESCAPE FROM WYOMING by writer Robert Venditti and artist Jorge Monlongo. The publisher also recently successfully completed a six-figure Kickstarter campaign for a collected edition of its HERO TRADE universe of stories and revealed new covers by A-list industry superstars Joe Quesada and Rob Liefeld, the latter of which is part of a planned series by the Image Founders.

BAD IDEA has also announced today that they have promoted Anthony Militano to the position of Director of Data & Operations. Militano joined BAD IDEA as Sales & Operations Manager in April 2021 with previous experience that included eight years in comic shop retail with Maximum Comics in Las Vegas. In his new role Militano will be responsible for managing the BAD IDEA Destination Store program worldwide, developing relationships with retailers, overseeing BAD IDEA’s internal, proprietary ordering system, and will be part of the team responsible for making printing and print run decisions.

Stern and Militano are just the latest additions to BAD IDEA’s growing stable and will join their colleagues Vice President, Sales & Operations, Atom! Freeman; Vice President, Marketing, Josh Johns; and CEO & Chief Creative Officer, Dinesh Shamdasani at this week’s ComicsPro 2023 event, along with creators Joshua Dysart and Robert Venditti.
