Los Angeles, CA (April 1, 2019) – AfterShock Comics, the headline-making independent comic publisher behind recent hits including ANIMOSITY, A WALK THROUGH HELL, DARK ARK, BABYTEETH, and most recently DARK RED, today announced that comic retail veteran Marc Hammond has joined the team as Senior Retail Sales Development Manager.
As AfterShock continues to make significant investment in working more closely with comic stores across North America, the Diamond Comic Distributors’ 2017 Publisher of the Year (Under 3%) adds Hammond, a store co-owner himself, to meet the grassroots needs of the ever-changing marketplace.
Hammond joins AfterShock after leaving his most recent post as Retailer Outreach head for Archie Comics in the US. A lifelong comic enthusiast with over two decades of strong retail experience in the comics and pop culture industry, Hammond is also General Manager and co-owner of Aw Yeah Comics stores in New York and Illinois, where he develops and implements all marketing, social media and promotional strategies for the locations.
In his role with AfterShock, Hammond will work with AfterShock’s SVP of Sales & Marketing Steve Rotterdam to manage retailer communications, drive in-store promotions and sales, and represent the brand at trade shows and key events over the course of the year.
