Comments: Trumpf is coming after Djustin Druteau, and Djustin has a plan for the so-called Orange Clown. Trumpf is written and portrayed as a complete idiot. As he marches on the Republic of Quebec, he quickly runs into trouble, including a wall of his own making that he forgot about. His small army, made up of Ku Klux Klan members and Nazis, does not come across as much of a threat. Instead, they appear foolish and ineffective. Trumpf unleashes the Crusher, his version of a killer robot. This machine is a nightmare scenario for Canada, armed to the teeth and built for destruction. The Crusher comes across as a walking death machine, and the black and white artwork really helps emphasize its imposing presence. The centre page spread featuring Trumpf’s daughter is striking. The use of colour in the middle of the book makes that moment stand out visually and adds contrast to the rest of the presentation. Gooey looks like an intriguing character. At first glance, you are left wondering exactly what he is, which adds a layer of curiosity to the story. Both Trumpf and Djustin are handled with humour, though Trumpf is clearly depicted as foolish and incompetent. It is entertaining to see him portrayed as such, even if the idea of someone like him in a position of power carries an unsettling edge.
