Zombies Overloaded is an arcade inspired top down shooter in the vein of classics such as Smash TV, Total Carnage, & Robotron 2084. Among endless waves of zombies and bosses, there are three unlockable maps with each offering variations in gameplay.
You won’t be alone in the endeavor. Different weapons will appear with everything from a shotgun to a “space gun.” If you’re lucky a “nuke” will appear helping you send the waves of undead back to where they came from. Extra ammo will also appear along power ups such as super speed and temporary invincibility.
After zombies are killed you can collect bones that you can convert into gold to unlock various skins and maps, along with stacking your abilities for maximum damage.
If violence isn’t your thing there is also “pacifism” mode. “Pacifism” mode offers the player the challenge of surviving endless waves without a weapon. To help the player along, there are boxes to help temporarily block the way and power up to help you move faster or through zombie waves.
Zombies Overloaded is a game with a simple enough premise, but can offer hours of fun trying to beat your personal high score. It can also be fun with a group of friends to see who can survive the longest.
