WWE continued its roster downsizing this October, with a dozen releases.
Below is a look at every name confirmed to have exited WWE in October 2025, so far, along with when and how their departure occurred.
October 10 – The First Wave
Wes Lee – Former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee was among the most surprising names released. A cornerstone of the NXT midcard, Lee had only recently returned from injury. WWE cited “creative direction changes” as the reason for his departure.
Stevie Turner – The self-styled “stream queen” of NXT UK never fully found her footing stateside. Turner’s release came quietly, though she’s already hinted at exploring streaming and indie appearances.
Lance Anoa’i – A cousin of Roman Reigns and part of the legendary Samoan dynasty, Anoa’i had been working dark matches and live events. His exit, reportedly amicable, was due to contract non-renewal.
Jin Tala – A Performance Center prospect with a martial arts background, Tala confirmed his release on social media, thanking “the NXT family for the lessons and memories.”
Drako Knox – Once seen as a powerhouse project in developmental, Knox’s deal was ended amid “budget reallocations,” according to sources within WWE.
October 12 – Developmental Downsize
Haze Jameson – Known for his flashy ring gear and charisma, Jameson had recently begun appearing on Level Up. His release reflects ongoing cuts in the developmental system.
Summer Sorrell – The NXT women’s division standout was released just weeks after appearing in a tag match. She posted a heartfelt farewell, thanking fans “for the chants, even the boos.”
BJ Ray (Brayden Ray) – A breakout talent in WWE’s NIL program, BJ Ray’s contract expiration was confirmed rather than a firing. Insiders say WWE may re-evaluate him in 2026.
October 13 – The Follow-Up Round
Jamar Hampton – A fixture in the Performance Center’s strength training division, Hampton never debuted on TV. WWE opted not to renew his developmental deal.
Kylie Rae – A surprise name on the list, Rae had been working as a veteran hand and trainer for newer women’s talent. Her release marks the end of a short but inspiring WWE tenure.
Zayda Steel – Known for her athleticism and spark, Steel’s release drew fan disappointment online. She’s reportedly fielding offers from AEW and TNA.
Zara Zakher – The Australian-born Zakher had recently appeared on NXT house shows and was considered a rising star. WWE cited “creative realignment” as the reason for her departure.
