In 1939, MLJ Comics, the company that would later become Archie Comics, published Blue Ribbon Comics and entered the world of superheroes with Bob Phantom. Soon after came a pantheon of heroes, including the first patriotic superhero, the Shield, along with fan favorites like the Comet, Hangman, the Fly, and Lancelot Strong.
These heroes have appeared in both Archie Comics and DC Comics, and their adventures have been reprinted internationally in England, France, Germany, and Brazil. Over the decades, they’ve crossed over into radio, film, and pulp adventures.
Presented here is the 80-year history of the greatest superheroes of the Archie Universe, hosted by Rik Offenberger (Archie Comics) and Chris Squires (Archie Comics), along with Mighty Crusaders experts Ray MacKay (Big Bang Comics) and Tim Chizmar (Spooky Ninja Kitty Comics).
