I’m already looking forward to the 2025 holiday season, and that includes two great holiday facsimile Christmas comics from DC!
WHAT’S COMING?
Recently, DC announced their facsimile line-up for December, and that includes the first-ever appearance of Two-Face, a Batman foe. Normally, that would be high on my “looking forward to it” list. However, I’m a huge holiday season fan who is already playing Christmas music (I used to sing in a choir, and we always started practicing season music in early October so we’d be ready, so this is normal for me) and noticing all the Halloween items for sake. Mixed in with them are the beginnings of the Christmas stuff people enjoy, so this is a good time of the year for me!
DC caught my attention by offering two big (on several levels) holiday offerings—Christmas with the Super-heroes and a reprint of an early Wonder Woman holiday tale!
I can’t wait!
Oddly enough, the first book is actually the reprint of a reprint. The original Christmas with the Super-heroes reprinted holiday tales:

NOSTALGIA STILL SELLS!
I’ve often pointed out that nostalgia sells on many levels, and that includes these facsimile comics that quite regularly appear at local comics shops. Both DC and Marvel (and Image, too, I believe) produce these on a regular basis.
After all, they did earn their places among fans, and we like to revisit the last at times, especially if they are significant!
Of course, they are sold at today’s prices, not the original price tags. I don’t know how or even if the companies actually reimburse the creators, but if they do, I seriously doubt they do at the regular rate. So the companies make a lot of money with them, I’m sure!
Then, too, the paper copies tend to degrade over time, so a freshly printed copy does have its appeal!
Also, even these facsimile copies will certainly degrade over time as well, so they could be reprinted again in a few years! They are a gift that keeps on giving!
It also seems like these books will be reprinted in their original, larger sizes, which I always enjoy! They certainly are priced that way.
MORE HOLIDAY OFFERINGS?
I recently read an Ant-Man holiday special from Marvel that I enjoyed, so I will keep my ear to the ground to see if there will be new 2025 holiday comics. DC has made a habit of occasional seasonal anthology specials, so I am hoping for at least a couple new ones in the months ahead!
After all, these books meet my needs for shorter stories compared to regular comics that often extend takes for months and months at a time! It’s a nice change of pace!
So, will you be buying these reprints this year? If you do or don’t, I still hope you have a merry facsimile Christmas in 2025!
