Charity events run month of March, include donation drive and limited-edition art print sales to support comics education

PORTLAND, OR – February 19, 2020 – Earlier this month, Things From Another World announced that it will celebrate this year’s Eisner Week with one of the largest in-store signings in its 40-year history and a variety of charity initiatives to support comics education. This week, more details on its charity activities are revealed, including that Eisner Week charity efforts will span the entire month of March.

“We wanted Eisner Week to be a special time for his fans, but also a time to give back to the community that we have been a part of these past 40 years,” said Mike Richardson, CEO and President. “We’re extending Will Eisner Week over the entire month of March and, in partnership with Portland State University, helping to raise money supporting the education of future comic writers and artists.”
Things From Another World will promote several fundraising efforts throughout the month of March. The first is an Eisner Week-inspired charity print sale, with profits going to help fund comic education.
Fans will be able to purchase special limited-edition charity prints from four top comic artists, all featuring exclusive and new original art. Artists creating prints for the TFAW Eisner Charity Print Sale include Eisner-winner and Emmy-nominee David Mack (Kabuki, Daredevil, Cover), Eisner-winner Matt Wagner (Grendel, Mage), Peach Momoko (cover art including Marvel, Image, IDW), and Yoshi Yoshitani (Zatanna and the House of Secrets, various cover art).
Prints will be available for sale on TFAW.com and at Oregon TFAW store locations starting March 1, and the artwork will be revealed soon.
Along with the charity prints, in March donations will be accepted at Oregon TFAW stores with all donated funds going to PSU’s Comics Studies program. Donations will also be accepted at the Eisner Week Signing Event and After-Party, taking place at the Portland TFAW store on March 7 at 3PM, with some creators providing incentives for fans to donate.
