The Vampire Lestat Gears Up With Fender For New Season

An incredible team-up between AMC Networks and Fender has been unveiled. Beloved vampire and rockstar Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire will be taking the stage with four customized Player II Modified Stratocaster guitars, called “The LeStrat” collection.

Fender’s iconic Stratocasters will be on tour with Lestat during his rockstar music-themed season set to hit the road next year.  The collaboration was revealed alongside the debut of the first custom guitar in the collection, titled “LeStrat: Petit Coup.” Showcased as a delightful surprise at the Anne Rice Immortal Universe Comic-Con Panel during San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 26th. During the event, composer Daniel Hart thrilled the audience with an unexpected musical performance of “The Loneliness,” an original song he created for the upcoming season.

The expert team at Fender, in collaboration with Production Designer Andres Cubillan, created and modified the custom guitars. Each guitar in the collection features a unique design, progressively becoming more striking, intense, and “bloodier” as the season unfolds. This thematic transformation culminates in the unveiling of a hand-painted fourth guitar during the season finale.

“I’ve been playing my American Tele® through a ’65 Deluxe Reverb® since I was 21 years old. Fender has been a part of my music and my life ever since, and I’m excited to see what they’ve cooked up for our Rock’n’Roll Vampire.” – Daniel Hart

The Comic-Con panel gave eager fans a preview of the upcoming season, with other members of the cast sitting alongside Reid and Hart. Cast members included Jacob Anderson and Eric Bogosian. Also present were Executive Producer Mark Johnson, who manages the Anne Rice Immortal Universe for AMC Networks, and Showrunner and Executive Producer Rolin Jones.

Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat began production last month in Toronto. The show boasts a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its first two seasons and has received multiple accolades, including Emmy nominations for Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup, a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Drama, and TCA Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. Executive producers include award-winning producer Johnson, creator and showrunner Jones, and Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.
