ARCO, a fantasy film directed by Ugo Bienvenu, has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Last year, we published System Preference, a graphic novel written and illustrated by Bienvenu, set in the same universe as ARCO. Both also feature a character named Mikki, a trusted robot caretaker.
System Preference (on sale September 23, 2025) is a dark introspection on the future of the world of social media – a book making waves with sharp social commentary and stunning artwork.
While diving into the Ugo-verse, you will find that Mikki, a trusted robot caretaker, stars in both the System Preference graphic novel and the Oscar-nominated movie ARCO, a subtle nod linking his stories across two media.
ARCO, produced and championed by Natalie Portman, features Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Flea, Mark Ruffalo, and Andy Samberg! In addition to the Oscar nomination, it has been nominated for several other accolades, including the London Film Critics Circle Awards (Animated Feature of the Year), the Golden Globe Awards (Best Motion Picture – Animated), and the Annie Awards (Best Feature – Independent). It won the Lumière Awards for the Best Animated Film.
