PREMISE: In a future cyberpunk city, two friends decide to explore and experimental VR machine that comes with unintended consequences for both of them.

My first major endeavor was to adapt a story that I had turned into an audio drama back in 2014, into a comic book. In 2023 I launched an indiegogo campaign and a cheap that goal in 2024 releasing the comic in August 2024. The comic was a two-part story and was delayed for another year. I had nearly given up but decided to push through and I finally reached my goal creating part two of this comic.

The story is called the last day and it is about a society near the end of time, the cyberpunk dystopian, walled City living under an authoritarian government. The story of revolves around a boy named Silas who inherits technopathic (the power to communicate with machines through his mind) powers from a VR experience. He and his friend Steve then spend most of the story running away from the NEO while they try to figure out Silas’s new powers.

At the same time there is an AI named Allison who triggered part of the event that gave silence his powers and has trapped her creator Dr. Kison, side of a deadly VR sequence where she aims to change him and warp his mind, and then release him on to the public.

In the comic I adapted most of that stories but took some creative liberties, choosing to focus mostly on the VR experience and what happened inside of the sequence. I wanted to give context to Silas and his powers before setting them on an adventure.

After creating and funding your first comic I realized just how expensive and tedious the process was but I did learn a lot. I kept learning about indie comics and story writing, and all of The Craft. I eventually opted to move to prose, writing a few books and expanding the story before returning to the second comic. Now I have about five solid stories, two comics, and another comic series that I’m going to be releasing on a much faster cadence.

I’m incredibly proud of my work and excited to be finishing it, but it’s the greater story that I’m most passionate about now that I’ve already started.

 I’m glad to be able to release and finish The Last Day part 2, but that’s not where my focus will be for the remainder of the year. I’m going to be working on a new secondary series, and finishing up my 7th book. I’ve learned a lot and I plan on putting all of that knowledge to use in creating a fun and expensive superhero universe.

As of a few months ago I have established an RSS feed for press releases that I update on a pretty regular cadence (usually about every 28 days). This is a clean and reliable mechanism for me to get the news out about the book and I will definitely adopt the format that you suggested in future updates.
