Announcing Super Pocket handheld systems featuring Capcom and Taito editions

HyperMechTech today announced the launch of a new line of portable video game devices to bring arcade classics into a system small enough to fit in your pocket. Based on the popular Gameboy design which many gamers fondly remember, there will be two versions of the handheld, each featuring built-in games from either Capcom or Taito.

The handhelds are officially licensed and feature a 2.8″ IPS screen with a 320×240 resolution, USB-C charging and a 3.5 headphone jack. They also feature an Easy Mode to allow gamers of all ages to enjoy these classic games at their own level. They also feature a cartridge slot which provides full Evercade compatibility with over 45 cartridges which contain 500 games from retro systems, arcade titles and the latest indie hits.

Retailing for $59.99 each, preorders open up July 14th with sipping expected by October. The Capcom games are known to be limited to built-in availability rather than on a cartridge but the company has not indicated if the Taito games will also get an Evercade release in physical cartridge form.

There will also be a retail exclusive bundle with both handhelds with crystal cases and limited to 2,000 units available from UK retailer FunStock Games.
