To no one’s surprise, South Park was well-received over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con. The experience occurred offsite at Quartyard on 1301 Market St in downtown San Diego and ran from Friday, July 25 to Saturday, July 26.
The popular animated franchise, which marked its 25th anniversary in 2022, first premiered on Comedy Central on August 13, 1997. The beloved characters Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny made their initial appearance in the animated short “The Spirit of Christmas,” paving their way into television history. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are co-creators and executive producers, joined by Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. Producers include Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell, and Vernon Chatman, with Christopher Brion acting as the Creative Director of South Park Digital Studios.
The South Park activation welcomed con-goers and the public to the free event through reservations and a standby line. Inside this piece of South Park, activities included cosplay contests, a bar, interactive photo ops, karaoke, trivia, exclusive merch, munchies, and giveaways.
San Diego Comic-Con was a fantastic event for the show, marking the release of Season 27, Episode 1 on July 23. It was an incredible way to start the season!
