Russian superheroes on Netflix

“Major Grom. Plague Doctor” – the first Russian comic-based movie streaming worldwide – is out on Netflix!

A worldwide premiere of “Major Grom. Plague Doctor” – the first Russian comic book screen adaptation, directed by Oleg Trofim and produced by young and independent BUBBLE studios, starts streaming on 7 July on Netflix exclusively. 

The film will be available in Czech, English, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish (Cast.), Spanish (Neutral), Turkish and Thai languages.

Can a masked vigilante, who’s tired of corruption and lawlessness drowning the glorious streets of Saint Petersburg, change the system? He calls himself The Plague Doctor, and he is determined to do whatever it takes to establish justice. His methods come to the attention of a rebellious local detective, Igor Grom, who has his own perspective. This is a uniquely local action-packed superhero blockbuster with bits of irony as well as emotional heart-breaking moments. The story is based on an original comic series by Russian writers and artists at BUBBLE.

The film stars actors of award-winning theater productions: Tikhon Zhiznevskiy, Sergei Goroshko, Dmitri Chebotarev, as well as experienced film actors like Lyubov Aksenova, Aleksandr Seteykin and Merited Artist of Russian Federation Alexei Maklakov.
