Riftbound Regional Qualifier: Las Vegas First Impressions

This past weekend, I attended the Riftbound Regional Qualifier in Las Vegas. With over 1,600 players competing for amazing prizes in the Main Event, it was an open for everyone to celebrate what Riftbound has become. Content creators, cosplayers, casual gamers, and new fans of the game all mingled together at The Expo at World Market Center for three full days. The setup was user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and locate everything attendees needed.

Aside from the large tournament, event goers could also participate in fun activities such as Team Trios Sealed, the 2v2 Team Challenge, Draft, and Full Box Sealed. There was always space available to learn how to play the game at the “Learn to Play” station. Here, Riftbound trainers helped new Riftbound adventurers with step-by-step guides of the game. The play mat players were equipped with the rules for combat and scoring points. Players rolled their dice to see who went first, and the trainer walked through each step, breaking down the mechanics with ease.

To dive into the newest set, Spiritforged, players could join On Demand Constructed events. For a small entry fee, players played 1v1 for Prize Wall tickets. I participated in a 56-card pre-constructed deck battle with other press players, and it was a blast. Everyone was very friendly, helpful in reminding players of the game’s steps, and even lent strategic advice at the table. I picked the Fiora deck, and while her Might abilities were enjoyable, facing off against a Rumble brought back memories of my battles against Viktor.

Prizes & Merch

Vendors offered a wide range of products beyond just cards, including plushies, notebooks, clothing, sleeves, and various TCG accessories. Additionally, vendors sold Riftbound singles, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that some were very reasonably priced! The official Riot Merch store and Prize wall showcased awesome loot as well. Prizes at the Prize Wall included Riftbound booster packs, champion art card sleeves, champion decks, playmats, and plated legends.

Great Pulls & Community

In between card games, the excitement around the event grew. If an Overnumbered card was pulled, everyone cheered, took pictures, and was eager to see it up close. I got to have some great experiences and even form new friendships over the love of our champions, all amid the excitement of pulling epic cards.

“I’m hoping for more side events throughout the entire weekend (for the next Riftbound event). I would 100% go again.”

Attendees were particularly thrilled about the booster display boxes. By the end of the event, statues were flying off the shelves. Players were delighted to see a good supply of Riftbound boxes and other products available during the event. They returned toward the end and found the line much more manageable, with the product still available. Only the statues and collectibles were selling out fast.

When Sunday rolled around, I asked him (Nathan) about the activities he had engaged in throughout the weekend. He shared that he participated in two large tournaments—though not the main event—along with various free-for-all side events, the excitement of ripping boxes, and the thrill of pulling incredible cards.

In conclusion, attending the Riftbound Regional Qualifier: Las Vegas was an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and connection. The event all around was infectious with energy. Additionally, even for those of us who consider ourselves casual players had an amazing time. We’re already looking forward to the next qualifier in Los Angeles, our home city, and we can’t wait to dive into the fun again.

Organized Play is on the move for the Regional Qualifiers in Lille, France (April 17-19) and Atlanta, GA, USA (April 24-26). You can read more about Riftbound’s 2026 Roadmap here.
