Riftbound: Radiance Unveils New Mechanics, Legends, & More

Riftbound: Radiance is the year’s final set, and it will be memorable! Since its launch in late October 2025, Riftbound has continued to rank high among trading card game (TCG) product lines. With each new set, Riftbound unleashes more playable Legends, engaging mechanics, and creative ways to make games exciting.

Riot Games unveiled some exciting news about the new set during the Riftbound Regional Qualifier: Los Angeles. During the Riftbound: Radiance panel, Dave Guskin (Game Director), Jon Moormann (Radiance’s Lead Designer), Brice Cox (Creative Director), and Michelle Mauk (Radiance’s Art Director) touched on some of what’s to come. But that was only the opening act, and Radiance is all about bringing the best on stage.

Riftbound: Radiance will feature nine new Legends, including K’Sante, Ekko, and Orianna. An honorable mention for Riftbound’s first neutral domain Champion Unit goes to Neeko! This curious chameleon can shape into any deck, no matter the domain.

  • K’Sante, Pride of Nazumah: K’Sante assists other units with Shields.
  • Ekko, The Boy Who Shattered Time: Lets you play expensive units earlier, but you lose them by the end of the turn.
  • Orianna, Lady of Clockwork: She transforms gear into Units to overwhelm enemies with a machine army, great treasures, and Gold tokens.

The set’s new keywords are great incentives for players to get creative with their big plays:

  • Disarm: “When I attack, give an enemy unit here -1 Might this turn.”
Multiple instances stack, and Kai’Sa, Rebel pairs Disarm with giving your spells Reaction during a showdown.
  • Show Off: “As you play this, you may reveal such a card from your hand or pick a friendly one.”
  • Deploy: “Play this (Gear) only to a battlefield. When an opponent holds here, kill this.”
Ziggs, Hexplosive Expert, deploys Bomb tokens that, when killed, damage enemy units and set off every other Bomb in a chain reaction.

Now it wouldn’t be a star-dazzling set without the big-ticket stars. Those nine new Legends we mentioned earlier are getting Overnumbered variants, but that’s not all. Heartsteel is making their debut as Overnumbered cards, along with Special Alt Art cards that follow in the same footsteps as Vendetta’s Crystal Rose treatment. The set’s Ultimate Rare is a star headliner and will only appear in less than 0.025% of packs.

With the release of Riftbound: Radiance, new products will also be available, such as a Collector’s Binder and a Showdown Deck featuring Evelynn vs Seraphine. Pre-Rift events take place from October 16-22 at local game stores. Each Pre-Rift Kit includes five Radiance boosters and a special pack featuring the nine new Legends. Attendees can also receive a Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor promo card while supplies last.

Previews run September 25 through October 9, and Radiance releases October 23 in English, French, and Simplified Chinese, the first set to launch in all three languages at once.
Summoner Skirmish events begin November 9 and December 14.
