Comments: For the first time, the original trilogy of the cult-favorite anthropomorphic alien invasion graphic novels is collected here!
Collects Wild’s End: First Light, Wild’s End: The Enemy Within, and Wild’s End: Journey’s End.
Anamorphic animals are used here. The art and story both start seriously looking and we are introduced to a few characters such as Mr. Clive Slipaway.
There was a falling star as well which will have something to do with this story from how it was presented.
The story takes place in Lower Crowchurch. One resident ends up terrified by what is happening. Clive steps up to investigate and a couple of others join him. They find a place that a small lamp post has visited and left destroyed so this lamp post is not friendly at all. Does it tie into the shooting star?
Clive and three others go searching and they find a writer under attack and she is attacking back.
So Peter, Clive, Alph and now Susan form a group. Fawkes soon joins them and we see there is more than one alien on the loose.
Now a large alien appears and it and the smaller ones have been causing lots of damage and killing a few people as well. What is it that they want?
The individual characters are well done to make each one unique. You get to know them all on a personal level.
The army comes to Crowchurch and they bring in specialists in the form of two top science fiction writers. These two specialists question the group led by Mr. Slipaway. Well, the army goes looking for a spaceship and finds one and many more. Yes, it does look like an invasion is underway. As the army enters one of the space ships all hell breaks loose and the action skyrockets. Most times the story does flow along smoothly and then at times it gets exciting and then goes back to smoothly flowing along.
The battle does heat up as the army meets aliens. Yes, this is a war and people are dying. There are heroes in this war.
Martial Law is declared. Now a professor may be able to help with the war.
It works so well the way the story is told you get to see everything from a common person’s point of perspective. Even with army personnel, it is still the same you see things as they would from that person’s perspective. It is the characters that make this story great. Of course, the war going on and the excitement that courses sometimes are great to see too.
Wild’s End is the place you want to be. This story has everything action, excitement, and heartfelt moments and they will make you feel good.
