Comments: This issue opens with events unfolding, yet little is explained. We see a beautiful teenage girl, armed and walking through a deserted city. She comes across a charnel house, where she finds a man, and chooses to help him. The artwork highlights Violet’s beauty while also capturing the desolation of the city. The place lies in ruins. The presence of dead bodies adds a chilling atmosphere, reinforcing that danger is everywhere. Violet is searching for her father, who is briefly shown at the beginning. The questions quickly arise: who is he with, and what are they doing with him? Whoever they are, they appear to be a violent group. Then there is the mystery of the ghost. What is its role? A separate group of people arrives, clearly searching for someone. Is it Violet? Or someone else entirely? And who are these people? Very little actually happens in this issue. Watching Violet wander through the ruins has its moments, but the reader is left wanting more. Some answers, or even a clearer direction, would have been welcome. And perhaps the biggest question of all remains: who are the Bad Ones?
