Comments: Mr. Renfield is presented as insane and also obsessed. He is explained here better than he ever has been. Having Lucy and Mina talking about what happened on the ship is different, which is nice to see. The story of Dracula has been told many times, so a different way of telling it, if done right, makes for a nice change.
Renfield’s face is all white, which gives it a frightening look. The fact that he is the only one like this makes it even more terrifying. Dracula, as he is seen, stands apart from all those around him.
Dracula is slowly insinuating himself into the lives around him. Mina, Lucy, Seward, Van Helsi, and Harker are all feeling his presence.
Renfi,  old th, though is who people are most focused on, and it works. He may be insane, yet what he says and does makes sense if you know Dracula exists and he is a vampire. Renfield does not say a lot, yet he is talked about a lot.
Lucy and Mina are featured more here, and Dracula does insert himself into their lives.
Dracula is in the background here, yet he does make an impression. You will feel the rising horror of his presence.
