Comments: Oliver a young boy at school gets into trouble yet he does not seem to have the same level of being injured that others do. There is something different about Oliver and then the crows come.
The real world has a crossover with the cartoon world. The danger is amped up as Oliver and his grandpa flee.
This book introduces the main characters and Oliver starts to learn about his past. The cartoon art is fantastic so the characters pop out at you. The crows do make you think you’re watching a cartoon. Grandpa does seem very familiar to a famous gun-toting toon. The crows chasing Oliver makes for some fun scenes.
Oliver is an interesting boy. He seems to be halfway between the real and the cartoon world. The cartoons now want him the only question is why?
This book does come across a little bit like Roger Rabbit.
There is mystery and suspense here, plus excitement and an adventure just starting.
