Comments: “Halloween” A young bully quickly finds himself in more trouble than he can handle. He ends up inside a creepy old mansion, a setting that immediately establishes a strong, spooky atmosphere. Inside, the boy encounters a beautiful woman dressed in very little, wearing only a short nightgown. Glenn soon discovers that appearances can be deceiving. The woman initially seems friendly, but she transforms into a terrifying ghost. Given Glennis situation, it is enough to frighten anyone. It is a classic case of someone ignoring warning signs, and poor Glenn pays the price for stepping into a haunted house he should have avoided. The illustrations of the woman take a sharp and unsettling turn, adding to the horror. The artwork pushes boundaries and reinforces the disturbing tone of the story.
“Vampira” A man in a goth punk band develops a crush on a woman working at a bar. Unfortunately, the story lacks direction. Events unfold, but they feel disconnected and do not build toward anything meaningful. As a result, the narrative comes across as confusing and underdeveloped.
“Hollywood Babylon” Glenn is an actor auditioning for a role. He receives advice from another actor, which he believes to be helpful. However, that advice ultimately leads him in the wrong direction. The story takes an odd turn, including a moment involving pistachio ice cream, but it never fully comes together. It leaves the reader wondering about the purpose of the story and what the intended punchline might be. Overall, the first story is effective and engaging, but the latter two weaken the overall impact of the comic.
