Comments: Hugh, Brahm, and his sister Saoirse are all hanging out, playing a game while having fun. Saoirse, though she has magic abilities. This world is just full of magic. As Saoirse talks to another witch, Aine, you can feel the temper inside Saoirse; she is boiling with rage. How you use magic decides whether you’re good or bad, so using it in anger is dangerous.
Saoirse has her Nanteach her about magic. Her Nan seems to be filled with hatred and is trying to fuel Saoirse’s.
Nicneven is mentioned and seems to be some kind of magical evil being. Saoirse loves her brother Brahm, and when he is taken, she goes after him to get him back. She does have love in her, and it will be interesting to see her hate and love battle it out.
The art is gorgeous and done in an all-ages style. The backgrounds are simple and work especially with the coloring done so well.
This is a strange world is magic, and the reader only gets a small look at that world here. It will be wonderful to see more as the series progresses.
It is mentioned that Saoirse must fight someone to protect her family and friends. Who,o though, is not mentioned? It would be nice to know a little more about what is going on.
Saoirse is a strong young girl who must decide what she does with her magic powers.
