Comments: Gobbleygookham is the home of Fluttermouse, Thmonious, and the Amazing Shwank Brothers. In this humorous story, the Shwank Brothers work as collection agents for a mysterious firm, and their latest target is Fluttermouse, who apparently owes the organization a tremendous amount of money.
The story and artwork both lean heavily into comedy, poking fun at many characters and tropes that comic fans will easily recognize. After capturing Fluttermouse, the Shwank Brothers decide that instead of simply collecting the debt, they can market him and make a fortune. Crime fighting is still involved, but now the real goal is turning a profit.
The second story features a bizarre mystery: someone is stealing the bikinis of beauty contestants, leaving the women completely nude. To solve the case, the Shwank Brothers deploy Team Shwank, their own superhero squad. The black-and-white artwork complements the tone perfectly, presenting the heroes with a classic superhero look while keeping everything playful and comical.
The second story ends rather abruptly and doesn’t develop much beyond the central gag. Still, the book is an entertaining read for fans who enjoy superheroes and appreciate a story that pokes a little fun at the genre.
