Comments: “The Clock Strikes!” Written by John Short, Illustrated by Vincent Danks, and Lettered by Spectrashift.
The Clock is a man of mystery as his face is not shown. The black and white and the atmosphere give this crime story a noir feeling as well. The Clock is out to stop a string of killings with a Ku Klux Klan tie-in.
The story is filled with hard-hitting action. The Clock’s kick is perfectly drawn. This old-style noir crime story does satisfy. The Clock is in the style of the 1900’s crime fighters.
The singer Haze is one you will love in the short time you get to know her you see she is an amazing woman. The killer a KKK member invites you to hate him by his actions and he deserves to be hated.
“Resistors: Chop Chop” Written by John A. Short, Illustrated by Richard Pester and Lettered by Spectrashift. Here we see a recycling plant for robots that are no longer needed. One robot has evolved into a sentient A.I. and just wants to be free. The sexbot is cute but not drawn in any overall sexy poses. The story does make one think could happen in the future.
“Nosferatu II” was Written by John A. Short, Illustrated by David Hitchcock, and Lettered by Spectrashift. A woman leads a man down an alley where they enter the most amazing building that is filled with objects to fill you with terror. Here a transaction occurs that will have dire consequences. The art showcasing Nosferatu is beautifully done to illustrate his creepy frightening side. It will have you wanting to get the next issue. The use of greys in this black-and-white illustrated story works well.
“Anna Key: Can of Squirms” was Written by John A. Short, Illustrated by Chris Askham, and altered by Specreashift. One green-skinned female alien is committing a crime. Anna is a cute thief who can take advantage of a situation. This story is in color and it is a well-done job too.
This is a nice mix of genres with well-told stories that will make you want to come back for more.
