Comments: Lots of religion here, along with a lovely church. Bishop Wagner has a church in New York, and His Eminence has arrived to carry out a crusade.
The art, as we see Storm and Jean Grey, delivers a scene of terror. The shading and colors enhance the illustration. This has you looking forward to seeing what Jean is like in the present.
Storm acts civil toward Bishop Wagner. Ororo and Kurt are still friends, and you get the feeling they always will be.
An explanation is given of what is going on, so the reader is all caught up. As you make your way through this comic, you will see familiar faces, yet they have changed. There are divisions, with different groups against each other. They do have an uneasy alliance.
Cyclops is a man on a mission. He does what he can to save others. He knows what he needs to do and how to handle his foes.
The different groups have a standing peace, yet you can see it is strained. Things could break at any moment. Storm shows she is ready to fight if she has to. The other groups are ready as well, as we get a look at them and some of their resources.
The mutants are featured throughout this comic. You see them everywhere. In this world, though, they are not what you are used to or what you might expect. The lines are drawn. A war is coming.
