Comments: The pin-up art here is amazing. The book does tell a story as in reverse you see the life of Joe Christmas and the adventures he had with Klaus. Klaus from afar has looked out for him his whole life. Joe has had a wonderful life thanks to Klaus.
This book tells its story without a word spoken. The illustrations do the talking.
Klaus is a barbarian version of Santa Claus. This book though does not focus on him it focuses on him and Joe.
Dan Mora does draw beautiful pictures of the Christmas season. Plus a few creatures that are scary to see. Klaus though now he is drawn as a man with a good heart.
The count down to Christmas is done so perfectly as we journey back to the start of Joe Christmas’s life.
