What happened to Kevin? There are a lot of characters introduced here, and you are given a brief explanation of who they are. The story moves quickly once it gets started. However, things change so much that the initial storyline seems to be forgotten. The story needs to maintain a stronger focus so the reader understands where it is going.
The coloring has some nice, solid, bright colors that really stand out and catch your eye.
**“Season 2”**
“Love in the Garden” has a snail dumping her boyfriends for others. There isn’t much of a story here yet. The characters are so colorful that they jump off the page and immediately catch your eye. They are also drawn in a cute style that gives the book a fun look.
**“Season 3”**
The creatures in the garden are having a conversation, but it is hard to follow what is going on and what they are actually talking about. The story needs to be clearer. We need to learn more about each character, what they are doing, and why they are doing it. The more the reader knows about the characters, the more they will care about what happens to them.
The garden itself should be illustrated more clearly so it actually feels like a garden. Adding more background details would help establish the setting and give the artwork more depth.
The owls are cute, but the book needs more than that. It needs stronger storytelling, clearer character development, and a more defined setting to really pull the reader into the world.
