Comments: We are treated to a part of Hell where no sensations or feelings exist. One man is trying to discover what is happening and how he can change it.
Leviathan stands above it all, overlooking everything that goes on.
Pinhead is being reborn and is ready to bring pain to others, which he considers a blessing. He has his followers, who are just like him. They all worship pain. We see that Pinhead and his followers are ready for what lies ahead.
Pinhead is the High Priest of the Holy Monastic Order of the Gash. He is ready to go forth and bring others to his side and into his religion. They will suffer and come to know the pleasure of pain.
The art does a good job of conveying that these beings are not human. They are in Hell and are therefore a type of demon. Yet they can reason and feel, and they know exactly what they are doing. Hell itself is shown as a somewhat tamer place overall, with relatively few beings inhabiting it.
This issue introduces readers to some of the major players in Hell and the Order of the Gash. It provides just enough information to pique one’s interest and leave readers wanting to learn more.
