Comments: “Kill Screen” A berserker cleric is in a land of zombies where everything is undead. This warrior is destroying all he encounters — but this is not what it seems. We see here how a video game can go far too far. If it gets inside your mind and changes your perception of reality, bad things can happen. The zombie artwork gives the reader a fright, and the scenery sets an atmosphere of dread.
“The Foster” The story starts out well, building tension effectively. Then things begin spiralling quickly. This man does not like the attention being on anyone but himself. The ending is vicious, as he does what he feels he has to in order to get what he wants.
“The Christmas Log” Manny returns to his hometown for Christmas with his mother. He seems like such a good son. Of course, he is home for more than a pleasant holiday visit. Manny is one violent guy, too. It is hard to blame him entirely for what he does — a bully often gets what he deserves. Manny may go overboard, but oh well… it’s Christmas.
“Good Bones” Here we have an old bathhouse renovated into a more modern hotel. The moral of the story: do not mess with ghosts — especially ghosts with a mission.
