Comments: Flash has returned to Earth after years away, and the Earth Rocketry Administration is now in charge. Flash, Dale Arden, and Hans Zarkov are all back home, but things have changed.
Flash is now a teacher. He and Dale are apart, and Earth seems to have moved past the era of grand adventure. Yet Flash, being Flash, does what he does best: he flies by the seat of his pants and brings his cadets-in-training along for the ride.
As usual, Flash finds himself on an adventure, this time with his cadets in tow. They encounter a massive, terrifying alien creature capable of ripping metal apart. Leading the group, Flash keeps the cadets in check during an out-of-this-world escapade. The cadets gain valuable first-hand experience in the field, make first contact, and learn an important lesson along the way.
This is not the Flash Gordon you’re used to. He still has the same bold attitude, but Earth has changed dramatically in his absence. He experiences a great, wonderful adventure here—only this time, he is somewhat grounded. That raises the question: what next? Will Flash accept a fate of boredom? What has become of Zarkov? Is Dale truly lost to him? These questions and more demand answers.
The adventure in this issue is fun and exciting. The real question is: will the adventure continue?
