Comments: “Depot of Death”
The Midnight Stranger is a mysterious crime fighter who confronts a gang of thieves in his own unique way. He is a relentless vigilante who takes no prisoners in his war against evil. The artwork presents him effectively as a dark avenger of the night.
“Wayne’s Shadow!”
Wayne Dylan lies helpless in bed while his wife and doctor carry on an affair behind his back. Unable to do anything, Wayne’s situation suddenly takes a strange turn. This is a weird story with a nice little twist at the end. The artwork could be more focused and consistent.
“No Place Like Home!”
Billy finds a mysterious green jewel and, with the help of magic, discovers there are places far worse than home. In the end, Billy learns there truly is no place like home. Unfortunately, the artwork has a washed-out, pasty appearance that makes the characters’ facial expressions difficult to see.
“Kra-Kaduum”
Kra-Kaduum serves as the muscle for the Zathosians. Although the Zathosians fear his immense power, that very fear ultimately leads to their downfall in a surprising and unexpected way.
“Special Delivery”
This story begins like a horror tale but ultimately goes nowhere. It lacks a satisfying payoff or clear purpose. The one panel featuring Shelly is charming, but it isn’t enough to elevate the story.
“Till Death Doole’s Part”
Devon is a married man determined to become more of a man’s man. The narrator gives the story an entertaining tone, making Devon’s journey enjoyable to follow. In the end, Devon does improve his “life,” while his wife’s circumstances change dramatically. The artwork effectively showcases the characters and helps bring the story to life.
