Comments: King Numedides of Aquilona meets with Conan. Conan is ill at ease within the walls of the palace. The King does seem to have a great interest in Conan. The King has a surprise for Conan.
Conan speaks out against the King, and that leads to him being put in a jail cell. He knows how this plays out and waits for his time. When they come for him, Conan unleashes his full fury on the assassins. This is a brutal battle. Conan fights for his life, and so do the assassins. Conan is a man of action, and once he starts going, he is hard to stop, and with help, even harder.
The art is created in the dark, so it appears darker with more pronounced shadows. The fighting scenes in close and you can see Conan’s muscles in play. Conan is a man among children when it comes to fighting most.
Things are changing in Aquilona with this mad King ruling and now turned against Conan. Conan has the people on his side and many fighters. Conan may not want to rule, but to survive and help those who need it, he may have to. The idea of him as King is more than hinted at here.
