Comments: Conan rescued a beautiful woman, Livia. Conan and his warrior companions enter the town of Daynt, and the people are very welcoming there. Too much so for a group of strange warriors who appear.
The hospitality of the town’s people is great and too much. Conan feels it and is suspicious. He knows from experience that if something is too good to be true, it probably is. Once night falls, the town’s people reveal their true agenda. Only Conan stands ready to still fight, but against a whole town’s people, even he succumbs. They are all held in a dark and dingy pit.
Athyr-Bast controls the town with her magic. She is a woman of evil. She takes the prisoners as hers. Conan finds himself thrust into a Stygian arena of death. There, he faces a giant of a man, Krum-Va the Carver.
The one behind all the vile evil here steps forth, revealing himself. He is the ultimate evil personified. The art makes it clear that this man, if he still is one, commands fear. The Stygian Grand Master of the Black Ring is terror come to life. Conan is in for the battle of his life, and not only his life but his very soul.
