Comments: Gaia calls forth Captain Planet to aid her. Men are after Gaia’s rings; they can release the power.
Kwame is a young man in Ghana. Kwame Aboagye is given a ring and power over the earth. The illustrations show his power being used even though he does not know it.
James Wheeler is a young man in Detroit. This man is already a hero. He is given a ring and power over fire.
Linka Aleksandrovina Sokolov is a young woman in Russia. This woman is given a ring and power over wind. She has a fire in her and she is tough as she defends herself and others.
Gi Seung-Hyun is a young woman in South Korea. She is drawn as a cutey. Her personality is optimistic.
Ma-Ti Yanez is a young man in Brazil. This man is given a ring and power over the heart. He is connected to living creatures.
As we are introduced to each of these people, the Planeteers, you can feel the connection between them and Captain Planet. Gaia needs them and the power they now possess.
Lucian Plunder does make for an evil, uncaring villain. You just want to smack him one.
There are updates here to the original Captain Planet and so far they all work. This issue does leave you wanting more.
