Comments: The artwork is rich in detail, both in the characters and the backgrounds. The black-and-white presentation brings out these details beautifully. Ash-Aman is illustrated in the heat of battle, while the High Priest is depicted as a master of both magic and combat.
The King plans to marry Ka-I-Rah, and jealousy blooms as Ash-Aman becomes enamoured with her. This creates bad blood between the Priest and the King.
In some illustrations, Ka-I-Rah appears almost nude, even though she is not.
In ancient Atlantis, both magic and drama unfold. The court intrigue is strong. Who will prevail, Priest or King? The city’s denizens riot in the streets as they call for the blood of Ash-Aman.
