Comments: “Yankee Doodle Darling”
The gang looks great dressed up in patriotic costumes. There are plenty of patriotic outfits and clever recreations throughout the story. The plot is simple, with the students and teachers just enjoying a day at school. Veronica does end up a little disappointed.
“Patriotic Spirit”
Veronica goes on a learning binge about Colonial history. She becomes inspired, and her patriotic spirit comes out—just not in the way you might expect. It’s a lighthearted, fun story. The new characters fit right in and add a lot to the tale.
“What If Jughead Was President?”
Jughead would certainly run things differently. Making big decisions based on food might actually be an improvement! Jughead should be President—he would definitely spice things up.
“What If Reggie Were President?”
Reggie is girl-crazy even as President. For him, everything revolves around girls, making for a humorous contrast to Jughead’s food-focused administration.
All of these stories have a strong patriotic flavor and make for an enjoyable, festive collection.
