Comments: Charles Dickson is the head of a business, and this Christmas he is acting like a drunken Scrooge. All of his employees hate him, and some are willing to go the extra mile to show just how much. Things begin to escalate as the office party turns into something far more explosive and action-filled than expected. The art is clean and simple, which suits the straightforward nature of the story. The colours are solid, and the paper stock gives it an older, newsprint-style feel. The characters’ personalities come through clearly, especially the disdain for Charles. As you follow the story, it is easy to find yourself sharing that same dislike. The ending to this Christmas party is electrifying. Charles receives a well-deserved “gift,” and the bitter employees get their due as well. In its own way, it is a fitting holiday conclusion for everyone involved. This is a fun read featuring characters you will enjoy hating. As a bonus, the book includes the original story presented in black and white, along with the colour version and the scripts as well. This gives readers a glimpse into how the story was developed from script to finished comic.
