REVIEW: Strange Luck, The Tale of Bill Black

Drew Mack produces a documentary following the unusual occurrences that led Bill Black to a 50+ year career as an independent filmmaker and the publisher of the longest-running independent comic company.

For Comic fans the film charts AC Comics from its beginnings as a Fanzine, Paragon Illustrated, to the creation of Americomics and FemForce, along with the move into comic shops.

For independent film fans, we see the beginning of Bill’s career and his gorilla productions in abandoned builds. We even see his homemade miniature and sets from the early days of his productions.

It’s a tale of a never end series of unlikely occurrences that have allowed Bill Black to follow his childhood passions, a love of horror movies and comic books, into a career that allowed him to chart his own destiny and be the master of his own creativity. If you like indie comics or indie films this is a must see.

Highly Recommended!
