This week, I will look at G-Men United # 3 via G-Man Comics. Once again, this series is remarkable in giving every character in the G-Man universe their own feature while making sure that some of the most talented artists get their moment to shine. Every talent comes through to show that they are the next generation of artists (Rik Offenberger knows how to pick great talent). I like the collection of such great characters as Lynx, Atomik Bombshell (She puts Supergirl to shame), and Taranis, who comes to life courtesy of Eric N. Bennett’s script and Ron Williams’ artwork. What I enjoy about the Taranis feature is how both Bennett and Williams can combine the influence of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, along with The work of Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz, to deliver something completely timeless. The Rik Offenberger/Chris Squires feature that gives the complete origin of Agent Squires is a great way to focus on one of the most unsung heroes of the G-Man universe. It doesn’t hurt to have Joshua 1:9 Halley on art duties since he always delivers with his animated style (This guy can make any story look magnificent);
It may be a while before every G-Man character can get their own series, so G-Men United is the number one series for anything exciting and adventurous about this universe.
Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for sticking around. I will see you all next time.
