This week, I’m excited to share my review of ‘Muddy Waters Too’ from Vault Comics! This vibrant graphic novel draws inspiration from Redman’s highly anticipated sequel to his iconic album, ‘Muddy Waters.’

It follows Doc, the inventive mind behind MUD—a special soil that, when paired with the right music, helps plants grow faster. Doc genuinely believes MUD can help feed the world, but it also produces some powerful weed, which adds a fun twist. Sadly, his MUD gets stolen, and now, Doc and his team are on a mission to get it back, facing off against some hilarious challenges like angry girlfriends, severe gingivitis, and Doc’s amusing weakness—perfectly manicured toes. The story perfectly captures everything fans adore about Redman by mixing hilarious moments with a lively, quirky vibe that reminds you of classic ‘Cheech & Chong’ movies or the 2001 stoner comedy “How High,” featuring Method Man. The quirky crew—Fat Bruce (a big Bruce Lee fanatic), Marla, Hector, and Lil’ Tommy—may not be traditional heroes, but their playful personalities and wild antics make for a truly entertaining adventure. Redman and Ben Katzner do a fantastic job keeping the story lively with plenty of laughs and lighthearted chaos.

Meanwhile, Geo Gant’s vibrant artwork, combined with Fred C. Stresing’s bold colors, creates a fun, cartoon-like feel that sets the perfect tone for this wild ride. Fans of Redman will especially enjoy the funny, over-the-top moments—from the weed-smoking scenes to the foot fetish jokes. ‘Muddy Waters Too’ offers a unique peek into Redman’s universe beyond his music, and it’s a perfect complement to listening to the ‘Muddy Waters Too’ album or the original from 1996. Overall, this graphic novel is a fantastic addition to both the comic and Hip-Hop worlds, sure to deliver plenty of laughs and excitement.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for sticking around, and I look forward to seeing you next time.
