REVIEW CORNER: Killer in the Garden Volume 1

Killer in the Garden Volume 1

This week, I will review volume one of “Killer In The Garden” from Red Leaf Comics.
This collection includes the first three seasons of the webcomic, which centers around Kevin, Owl, and Kate as they team up with others to uncover the mystery of the Killer in the Garden. While the mystery may draw in readers, the humor and chemistry among the characters often feel dense and mundane, making it tiresome after a few pages. The story seems to drag on after the first season, with little hope of becoming more engaging or gaining momentum, resembling a soap opera gone wrong. This webcomic may not reach the likability of “Doonesbury,” the charm of “Peanuts,” or the humor of “Bloom County,” but both regular fans and new readers might still enjoy some delightful moments. Mainly because it offers a way to escape the edginess and intensity of other comics. Hopefully, creator Krisztián Varga will refine the humor and develop more engaging characters that can elevate it into a true stand-out
Well, that’s it for me. Thanks for sticking around, and I look forward to seeing you next time.
