Packrat & Thunderbunny is an indie-created, humorous, action-packed, buddy superhero comic book. Think Looney Tunes meets Marvel/DC. Drawn in a bold, brightly-colored cartoony style, this comic book is a kid-friendly fun and funny romp that pays tribute to the classic superhero comic book genre of heroes vs villains.
Re-Introductions
Welcome back to Issue #2 of Packrat and Thunderbunny. For those who missed the first campaign, look below for a brief synopsis of what happened last issue.
But first, who are Packrat and Thunderbunny?
Packrat and Thunderbunny are two characters that are both best friends that happen to be superheroes (however, as you saw in Issue #1, one of them is unaware they are best friends yet). Much like the main characters of the book, the co-creators of this comic, Derek Jason Bush and John Fletcher Pasquini, are also best friends and have been since they met in high school back in 1987! Yeah, we are that old! The characters were created when Derek was a freshman and John was a senior. It took 35+ years for these characters to come to life. Brief Synopsis
This second issue continues the story of two superheroes who are the best of friends that fight crime together. Issue 2 introduces a new character to the mix…Limelight! This comic book also contains the amazing origin story for both Packrat and Limelight which as you will see are intertwined. Spoiler Alert: Thunderbunny still remains a mystery for now. We have big plans for revealing Thunderbunny’s origins over the next two issues (#3 and #4).
As we saw in the last issue, Packrat is interrupted while defending the city against crime by a strange pink being named, Thunderbunny, who insists that they are “best buddies“ and had fought together on the Moon. Packrat struggled with this knowledge as he and the ever-persistent Thunderbunny battled a villainous group of human-animal hybrids called The Menagerie! After thwarting the villains from robbing a bank, Thunderbunny regaled Packrat with details of the mysterious battle royale on the Moon. Meanwhile, the Zookeeper, angry that his mutated minions had failed their mission, decided to add to their numbers and create one more human-animal hybrid, Ostrichard!
For those concerned with all the lovey-dovey hearts in that last image, fret not loyal backers. There is plenty of action to come in Issue 2. Along with plenty of laughs and even more villains to obsess over. Some questions will be answered, while others… well… maybe not so much. Some of the questions you may like answered are things like: Will Packrat ultimately accept Thunderbunny as the best friend he says he is? Will Thunderbunny finally understand what the frogs is even going on? What’s the story between Limelight and Packrat? Are they or aren’t they a couple? The world needs to know! Will John and Derek stop toying with us and just finish the story already? Will these questions and more be answered in this issue?
