The team behind After Action Report is back at it again, and this time they’re going deeper into G.I. Joe history. Their latest project, Command Files Vol. 2, is now live on Kickstarter, continuing the character guide series that hardcore Joe fans have been waiting for.
This new volume picks up right where the first book left off, offering full-color profiles of more classic G.I. Joe characters, complete with comic book appearances and story notes. Like its predecessor, Vol. 2 is an unofficial guide—but it’s packed with research, rare info, and visuals curated by the same duo who brought fans the After Action Report series.
Each entry includes appearances in Larry Hama’s legendary Marvel run, as well as other major G.I. Joe comic series like Devil’s Due, IDW, and European and UK exclusives. If a character showed up in a comic, chances are they’re in here.
Fans can also expect an updated layout, improved formatting, and more page space to highlight some of the lesser-known Joes. Whether you’re a longtime collector or just diving into the comic side of G.I. Joe, this book is shaping up to be another deep dive into the file cards and battlefield records of the Real American Heroes.
As with previous campaigns, Command Files Vol. 2 is being crowdfunded with the support of the G.I. Joe fanbase. The creators are offering various reward tiers, including bundles with the first volume, exclusive bookmarks, and even hardcover options.
