Three years after David Anthony Kraft’s Comics Interview Publications released the final issue of Southern Knights, Heroic Publishing’s Dennis Mallonee approached DAK and writer/creator Henry Vogel with a proposal they couldn’t refuse: The Southern Knights, Flare, and the League of Champions, together in the same story! These heroes and their greatest villains, led by the vengeful goddess Morrigan and the supposedly invincible Thugmaster, squared off in an epic, eight-issue crossover event that marked the final 20th Century appearance of the Southern Knights.
These stories originally appeared in black-and-white across League of Champions #5 through #8, Southern Knights #35 and #36, and Flare #11 and #12.
Full-color versions of these stories later appeared in Champions #47-50 and Flare Adventures #27-28.
And full-color reprint editions of League of Champions #5 through #8, Southern Knights #35 and #36, and Flare #11 and #12 are still in print.

This volume features two different variant covers. The League of Champions variant features Icestar, Connie Ronnin, Flare, Aramis, and the Huntsman facing off against the Thugmaster and the amazing Darkon. The Southern Knights variant features Dragon, Electrode, Kristin Austin, Rose, and Icicle facing off against Morrigan and Dread. It’s the same interior content, so don’t order both unless you’re a completist.
